    Veterinarian, Practice Owner

I grew up in the wonderful southern town of El Dorado, Arkansas. As a young child my parents let me have a variety of pets: raccoons, fox squirrels, flying squirrels, a squirrel monkey, a parrot, a boa constrictor, tarantulas, and of course a few cats and dogs. My desire to work with animals started at a very early age, thanks to my parents.

When I graduated from high school in 1970, I was unsure of what I could do and moved toward a business degree. I graduated from University of Arkansas in 1976 and went to work for Roadway Express Trucklines for two years. The next three years, I worked in Brazil, South America for a shipping company called Offshore Logistics. It was during this time I reflected on my real "calling" in life-- to work with dogs and cats.

I returned to the University of Arkansas to "repeat" my sciences for two years, applied to LSU Veterinary School, and graduated in 1987 as a doctor of veterinary medicine.

At the present time, I have a wife, four children, five dogs, two cats, and one parrot. Everyday I wake up and think about my veterinary mission and how fortunate I am working with wonderful pet lovers, great employees, and doing what I was intended to do.

I am from Camden, a small town in southern Arkansas.  I have fond memories of growing up surrounded by animals. They were more than just pets; they were family members too. I knew from a very young age that becoming a veterinarian was my dream job.

I received my undergraduate degree from Arkansas State University majoring in biology. I went on to receive my veterinary degree from Louisiana State University.

Currently my own family consists of four members: my husband, Jacob, and I share our home with Max, a Boston terrier, Charlie, a Husky, and DiNozzo our cat.

I feel very fortunate to have a career that is a true calling. As a veterinarian, I can share my love of animals with others, as well as providing quality health care for the animals that so many people consider part of their own families.

I was born and raised in Hickory Plains, AR; just around 15 miles southeast of Beebe, AR. I attended school in Beebe until I graduated from High School. As most people in this profession, I have always had a love and passion of all animals. I knew from an early age that I wanted a career centered on the care of animals. I then continued my education at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, AR. While I was at U of A, I was part of the Pre-Veterinary Club, D.E. King Equine Program, and the U of A Horse Judging Team. I was very fortunate to be part of the first U of A Horse Judging team. I graduated at U of A with a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science and a minor Equine Science.

In 2016 I was awarded one of the Arkansas Veterinary Medical Foundation Scholarships. I graduated from LSU School of Veterinary Medicine in 2018. I was blessed to start working at Briarwood Animal Hospital after graduation. I have loved being part of this family and community of compassionate and knowledgeable veterinarians and staff. I enjoy surgery and learning new techniques.

I currently live in Little Rock with my two dogs Bo, a border Collie, and Hank, Redbone Coonhound. I enjoying spending time with my family, as the oldest of four, our family gatherings can be quite lively. On my spare time I enjoy anything outdoors, including hiking, camping, hunting, and fishing. I have a strong passion towards training and showing cutting horses. Cutting is a western style competition where you work with a team to maneuver select cows from the herd. I have won several awards in this style and I am a Two-time Reserve World Champion in AQHYA.

NOTE: Dr. Bell sees patients on Monday,Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and every other weekend.
