Dr. Whitt Bell
I was
born and raised in Hickory Plains, AR; just around 15 miles southeast of Beebe,
AR. I attended school in Beebe until I graduated from High School. As most
people in this profession, I have always had a love and passion of all animals.
I knew from an early age that I wanted a career centered on the care of
animals. I then continued my education at the University of Arkansas in
Fayetteville, AR. While I was at U of A, I was part of the Pre-Veterinary Club,
D.E. King Equine Program, and the U of A Horse Judging Team. I was very
fortunate to be part of the first U of A Horse Judging team. I graduated at U
of A with a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science and a minor Equine Science.
In 2016
I was awarded one of the Arkansas Veterinary Medical Foundation Scholarships. I
graduated from LSU School of Veterinary Medicine in 2018. I was blessed to
start working at Briarwood Animal Hospital after graduation. I have loved being
part of this family and community of compassionate and knowledgeable
veterinarians and staff. I enjoy surgery and learning new techniques.
I
currently live in Little Rock with my two dogs Bo, a border Collie, and Hank,
Redbone Coonhound. I enjoying spending time with my family, as the oldest of
four, our family gatherings can be quite lively. On my spare time I enjoy
anything outdoors, including hiking, camping, hunting, and fishing. I have a
strong passion towards training and showing cutting horses. Cutting is a
western style competition where you work with a team to maneuver select cows
from the herd. I have won several awards in this style and I am a Two-time
Reserve World Champion in AQHYA.
